Toy culling for Christmas

This was posted on our local FB page, and just wanted to share, it made me think about donating in a way I wouldn't have thought have before.

"The managaress at our local charity shop was telling me she wished people would clear out their children's unwanted toys and were thinking of donating them would do it in the lead up to at Christmas rather than after.
The lady said she always sees a number of parents (who might be strapped for cash) looking for toys for their little ones, she said there's very rarely anything just before Christmas, but they get inundated with toys the days after.

If you know your children are going to get lots of presents from Father Christmas this year, by clearing out the toy cupboard a few weeks earlier you could make another child's Christmas a lot more special too."

This is a really good idea. We did a book cull recently, and will see if we can go through some games etc. now.
