Uneasy feeling at the gym

Not sure if I’m being paranoid here but I’ve been having PT sessions for a few months at my gym that are soon coming to an end. The PT also runs classes and I have known him for about 18 months and used to get on well.
He’s got a reputation for being a bit strict and getting results - fab just what I need in a PT. We got on really well at first and he was almost a bit flirty and very complementary, pushed me hard and got results but could be a bit hot and cold.
However, in the last couple of months he’s done some things that have made me feel a bit concerned.
He has started waiting in the car park for me to arrive (early morning session) and sitting in his car watching me which I found a bit unsettling. He used to do a lot of good natured banter with me but then when I made a comment back he became surly and defensive and told me not to ‘play with fire’ as he ‘isn’t want to mess with’. He turned up at a bar I had mentioned I was going to one night - not a huge deal as it’s a small town and we did have a nice chat but still a bit of a coincidence.
When I’m not having a session but working out with friends in the gym he will often stand arms folded and stare at me even if he’s working with another client.
He’s become pushy about why I’m not continuing PT sessions and when he is teaching a group class I’m in he now mostly ignores me.
I don’t want to leave the gym as it’s the only decent one locally and I’ve been going for years - it’s my sanity and I have a great network of (female) friends there. He has my phone/ address/ email etc from our PT sessions.
Am I overthinking this situation or would you be feeling uneasy too? What to do about it?

I would do two things

Summarise factually what you've said here in writing and log it with the management at the gym as there may be a pattern

Minimise contact

There isn't much else you can do but doing the above could help

I woud be very uneasy. I think you should stay away from the gym until you hear he's had the sack. Which won't be long if he carries on like this.

Thanks both for the validation and suggestions.
I won’t stay away from the gym as I am training and I need it for my physical and mental health but I will write the points to the manager and hope it’s dealt with sensitively.
