I have autism and also physical disability. I find asking for help almost impossible, worse if it because my physical disability means I can’t do something

Today I managed to ask someone to put a plaster on my arm. I didn’t manage to just ask a neighbour I think because I will see them again, but I managed with a stranger.
(And they did, I’ve asked once before and they said no)

I can’t tell anyone irl as it seems so stupid, an NT person and many ND people who function like me would just do automatically

I want to celebrate though - not think why couldn’t I just ask a neighbour- celebrate that I at least asked someone.

Well done!

Congratulations, OP. I am NT and I would struggle to do that too. I Hope you feel really happy and proud of your achievement.

I also Hope you didn’t hurt yourself badly, to have needed a plaster?

Thank you both - it was a burn but needs protection while it heals as grazed, hence not urgent

Well done!
And I hope your burn will heal nicely.
