What did your dc do for their Y10 work experience or what're they planning to do? Ds is stuck for ideas.

Dd did one week at digital marketing company, and another week at QVC working behind the scenes.

my son isn't there yet, but I remember mine and I bloody loved it! I worked at a theatre with a community photographer. There was 3 of us, and it was just 3 weeks of running riot round a closing down theatre, the lady we worked for didn't really want us around so she'd sometimes give us a camera and say walk down to the lake and take some pictures of wildlife, one day we had to pack up about 50+ puppets in a really dark basement that was spooky, and one day we were told to go and shadow the guys who worked on the ticket booth, two really fun older guys, they wrapped our friend up in a whole roll of bubble wrap and push him off the stage 😂 I got so lucky, my best friend spent 2 weeks sweeping hair of a hairdressers floor. I'd do mine again now and I'm 30

Does he like animals?
If so, a rescue centre?

My sons school doesn’t do it but I worked at a vets many years ago and absolutely loved that!

He has absolutely no idea what he wants to do career or uni wise. He likes animals not too sure he'd be into working at the vets but I'll run it by her, sounds like a good experience too. DO most people ask family and friends to put their child up for the week or do the students go around knocking on (shop) doors to find their placement? What is people's experience with this?

My ds did a week at a local library. I knew one of the area managers so emailed her to ask. The school wasn't very helpful about organising, although I think they did have some places with local primary schools for people who really couldn't sort anything out.

I did a week working at the Midland Bank, back in the day! And it was organised by the school.
