Night running

What do you night runners wear for lighting / visibility? I'm fed up of my annoying head torch which keeps pinging off or sliding down.

I have a lumefit cross body one.

Tbskejue · 23/11/2024 20:04

I have a cross body light, got it from Amazon and it’s great

rosemole · 23/11/2024 20:11

I kept seeing those on Amazon but wasn't sure about having yet another thing to charge up.

I also have a cross body torch from Amazon. Battery lasts ages! I normally wear a fluorescent top as well.

Noxgear Tracer 2.

Those x body things are expensive!

They're not all expensive! Something like this has done me for the past few winters. Not bright enough for trail running at night (eg if you were doing a long ultramarathon) but for bog standard 'being seen by other people and not falling over tree roots on the pavement' running it does the job very well. Much more comfy than a headtorch.

A hi-viz vest (neon & reflectors) and chest torch.
A reflective/ LED arm band can be helpful if you want to emphisise your width/ positioning

rosemole · 05/12/2024 22:49

Thank you all - I went for a wide beam head torch in the end, which I tried out tonight. Very comfy - would recommend.

I have a hat with a built in light! And reflective arm bands

rosemole · 06/12/2024 21:54

It seems I can't do anything this week without asking mumsnetters first.

So I've sorted my lighting issue, waterproofs, leggings with pockets, but my final running problem is EAR PHONES that don't pop or slide out.

Any recommendations?? Budget ones if possible.

Bone conducting ones that sit on your ear. I have aftershoz but there are cheaper versions.

I saw some lights you clip on the back of your trainers in the Boots gift section. I considered getting them for DIL as I always worry about her running in the dark (she's got a cross body one) Wondered what other runners thought?
