How many followers do you have?

If you have a social media presence where it's not just your friends and family but rather people who follow you because of something you do or are, how many followers do you have and what do you do?

@PattyDuckface crochet - just things I've make or am making - no idea why it's so popular. I've had lots of randoms asking to me to advertise temu type junk for them and get lots of people asking me to make stuff for them (always a no, I'm a selfish crocheter 😂 - not sure they want to pay anyway!) but never made a penny from it 😂

I’ve got a small group of followers, mostly friends and family, but I admit it’s tempting to grow that number a bit. I’ve seen people mention top4smm.com for boosting their follower count, and it seems like an easy way to get things moving if you're looking for a bit more engagement.

My highest one is my Insta home reno ac which is 2,220 followers, I've had this one for 3yrs but not added to it for a year as we've paused the reno, my followers have dropped off by about 350 at its highest.
My travel insta is 135 followers, a fairly new account at under a year old and my dog's insta is 171 followers, not updated this one for a while though.

I use tiktok but don't post content so no followers.

Next to none. I’ve been on Twitter for nearly 20 years and have about 100 followers. My elderly, technophobic mother has 12.5 thousand followers. God only knows how!

Footbaketr · 18/08/2025 06:47

I ended up deleting most of my accounts because I felt like I was wasting hours scrolling and comparing myself to people I barely knew. Life’s quieter, but I’m definitely happier.

I 100% wouldn't show strangers a video of my child.
I joined Instagram about 5 years ago to see what my teens were posting. I haven't been on it for about 6 months, just had a look and have around 900 followers! I've only posted two things about 3 years ago. I wonder if they are all bots?

My cat often follows me to the kitchen if she thinks it is food time.

Why on earth do people bother about stuff like this once they are past the age of 14?

ThingsBeingVarious · 18/08/2025 08:04

@Madammew I bother because it's my income.

DairyLeanne · 18/08/2025 08:04

My Instagram is set to private and I have 26 followers.

Footbaketr · 21/08/2025 11:15

I tried to grow a page for a small project, posted regularly, and got some decent engagement, but it was super slow. Decided to buy facebook likes just to give it a push, and it helped a bit with visibility at the start. Still had to post interesting stuff to keep followers around, though, so it wasn't a magic fix—just gave it a bit of a nudge.

CantThinkOfAnotherUsernane · 21/08/2025 11:24

My Facebook is set to private and only have daily and friends on there. Instagram I have around 200 followers and I have 10,000 on TikTok god knows how because I haven’t used it in months

gamerchick · 21/08/2025 12:31

You can buy likes?

Christ, I want to go back to the 80s. Me.

Dabberlocks · 21/08/2025 12:50

During lockdown, a relative posted on TikTok. Just the once. It was a video of her cooking a recipe and she got a huge number of followers - 20,000 in less than 24 hours and it kept on going up and up. She was gobsmacked.

Crushed23 · 21/08/2025 13:11

On Instagram around 350 but it’s 90% people I know (10% random businesses following me).

Don’t use FB / Twitter / TikTok. (Classic millennial 😅)
