Faroe Islands Trip recommendations

We are going to the Faroe Islands next summer together with my sister and her family (5 adults and 4 children aged 4 to 10). We've never been and would welcome any recommendations. We have Mykinnes to see the puffins and the waterfall already on our list. Any recommendations or experiences welcomed.

We’re also planning to go to the Faroe Islands next year! So I’m also hoping some come by with some good recommendations as well as we don’t know much but it looks amazing and sounds fascinating. We’re really looking forward to it.

Well how did it go?

Don't they mass slaughter whales and dolphins there? Not somewhere I'd like to visit.

It was actually really amazing! I loved the nature. The relaxed pace. How conscious they are about sustainable tourism and managing tourism. All in all a very positive experience for us! We didn’t make it to Mykinnes as the ferry was cancelled due to bad weather but we saw puffins anyways on the main islands.
