Also, do you get a bonus for fucking up people's suitcases, smashing the wheels, covering them with (oil?) etc?

I've flown out of Manchester several times and never had an issue. Pretty sure what you describe is very rare and probably happens on the rare occurrence at other airports too. Mistakes happen.

The unisex toilets are grim and have zero privacy too.

You’re right about the suitcase and damage but amongst those in the airline industry, fairly well versed in airports and all that goes with them, Manchester has not had a great reputation for the attitude of quite a lot of it’s staff for quite a few years.
