Anyone with a vain mail partner? What are they like to live with?

Male, not mail, sorry!!!

DH here has outstanding personal hygiene but a crew cut, weekly shave and a scent is as far as it goes. Sometimes he can be persuaded to use a hand cream and happy to use sun lotion on holiday.

I see many highly groomed men, especially young, in a gym and do wonder what’s it like to have a high maintenance male partner? Do you like it or does it annoy you? Does it cost a lot? Does it make you fancy them more or do you feel like you constantly have to match their standards?

My ex neighbour has a husband who is a real peacock and takes far longer to get ready to go out than she does. He only buys designer clothes and buys often. I think it would annoy me.

DH is clean and has a regular haircut etc, but he has zero interest in clothes and wears the same things until I wrench them from his back to wash them. Last week, he threw out a pair of completely disreputable jeans and they must have been bad if he noticed.

I love my no maintenance husband.

I often wonder about this. I’d find it so offputting.

Nah, my husband is low maintenance, too low sometimes.

My EXH was like this. Very vain, but also very critical of others - commenting on weight/clothing choices etc. Used 'purchased from Sports Direct' as an actual insult.

All round an unpleasant low quality human being. Boke.

DP on the other hand loves a soak in the bath with my fancy potions, but buzz-cuts and shaves about once a week and has only recently come around to the idea of a facial moisturizer at my persuasion..he's very good.

Urgh, no, can't be doing with anything like that.

I would imagine that a high maintenance man would have a similarly high maintenance partner.
