i am a writer and wfh, but yiu can’t look after a baby and WFH. You’d need still need childcare in place

As pp said if you're working from home you'll still need to leave your baby with a child minder or nursery. Unless you've got a long commute wfh isn't going to change the time you spend with your child

I wfh but there's no way I could do my job and care for a baby. What skills qualifications do you have as that will dictate what jobs you can do from home?

Bjorkdidit · 22/11/2024 04:38

I'm sure if you look on jobs websites there will be a filter for WFH, along with the skills, qualifications and experience you have - usually proficiency with MS Office applications. Or I don't know if there is any call centre type work that is WFH?

But there won't be a filter for 'WFH and care for a 1 YO at the same time' because that's impossible and you'll just end up doing both badly.

If you have a partner, can you work in the evenings and weekends when they can look after the baby and you get to spend more time with them during the week?

I presume baby is at home with other parent or family member so OP hardly wants to work and look after baby , come on! Could you look into some admin work OP? Or proof reading. Also call centre work or sales may be options. It's awful leaving your baby and coming home and it's nearly bedtime. Mine is in childcare two days and at home with my dh the other two but I feel guilty leaving her on the creche days for so long.Do you have an option to work less days?
