I am an interim team manager and we have an Xmas lunch and I was thinking of a small gift to give everyone:
Something the same?

I'm in exactly the same position and was thinking about this today.
I'm going to give them all the same because I just don't know them well enough indivually yet.

Costco do amazing tins of chocolate truffles. They look and taste expensive but cost about £10 for 2 tins. I'm hoping they have them in stock this year!

Buy the first round of drinks at the Xmas lunch if folk are paying themselves?

LemonLimeFresca · 21/11/2024 20:24

I was thinking about doing that anyway, but also maybe a small something and a card for them all...

A lindt Christmas teddy bear or snowman is nice

@OliviaWould is there something wrong with that?

Hotel chocolate pack of six chocolates or Lindt reindeer/teddy. Has always gone down well with my team. Whilst it's not a huge value it's the thought

£5 Costa voucher

I give my team advent calendars on the 1st December. The first year I was worried that it was a silly idea and I might offend them as it was a "childish" gift but it went down so well that I've done it every year since.

mindutopia · 21/11/2024 20:55

An advent calendar is a lovely gift (assuming everyone celebrates Christmas). I’m Jewish, but I still celebrate Christmas culturally and I get an advent calendar for myself every year.

I got little Christmas decorations from Primark, and I'll put one each in a bag with some chocolate. Also all the managers chip in for a few drinks at the Christmas party. It's public sector so not really expected, but appreciated.
