Your ideal evening in

I'm having a blissful evening and want to share and hear what everyone else thinks is the perfect night in.

I picked my 3 year old up from nursery at half 3 and we took a slow walk home together via the park. Then it was dinner, bath and bed. He played happily with his train set for a half hour before bed and I lit a fire. It was -2 out today.

After he went to bed I had a long bath and now I'm happily lazing on the couch eating leftover curry from yesterday with my favourite music playing softly in the background. Fire's going and the candles are lit. I'll muck about chatting to people on WhatsApp for a bit before choosing a movie or something to watch. The cat is curled up at my feet.

I'm quite easily pleased so:

Malteasers
Wine
Pyjamas
Good book
Roaring fire 😊

Honestly, very similar to you and pretty much what we did tonight! I hope you enjoyed your film! Give that kitty a snuggle from me - we've got 4 and two dogs. All lovely idiots.

We took the kids to play in the snow late afternoon, which was lovely. Went to check horses, the dogs were not pleased with the white blanket on the ground. Came home and I finished off making a spicy lentil soup while DH got the kids hot chocolate and lit a fire.

Ate at about 7 because the kids had wanted to watch a film (Polar Express). Nice hot baths for them, clean PJs and they were out like lights by 8.30 which is early here! DH and I then had a bath (bath bomb galore!), got changed and settled downstairs in front of the fire. He did some violin playing, I read my book, then he opened a nice bottle of wine. He very kindly restrained himself to one glass so I could have a few and not worry about the kids. We just talked for a while and it was lovely.

Now I'm wondering if we should make a late night cheese plate. We're considering a film because we're not tired yet, but unsure which one. We both like spooky so we might see if there's anything recent we've not seen.

Both children went to sleep at 7pm tonight so I finished a bit of work, attended a Zoom class with my Rabbi, and then worked on a short story for a couple of hours.

Now I'm about to have a shower, wash my hair, and then eat some toast and marmite while watching something with DH.
