My Facebook account was hacked. I've jumped through all the hoops of sending my passport etc to prove it's my account.
It now gives me the option to reset my password. I do this. It then asks for a WhatsApp code it sends to my number. That's fine because the phone number linked to the account is mine.
It then asks me for the code sent to my Authenticator app. I don't have an Authenticator app so this must have been set up by the hacker, so I can't give this. There doesn't seem to be any way around this!! How the hell do you get to contact a real person to sort this out??!
Any help appreciated. I wouldn't care but I've got an Oculus account linked to it with purchased games on that I'll no longer be able to access as the accounts are linked (and there doesn't seem to be a way of contacting Meta either 🤦🏻🤦🏻)
