Wet suit recommendations for child please

My 11 year old daughter is very slight and small. She gets SO cold when we go swimming that she spends most of her swim under the showers 🤣

She's agreed to get a wetsuit.

What are the best (warmest) ones available?.

Thanks

Two bare feet are good for children's wetsuits. They suit my tall thin boys and they have different thicknesses.

But I can imagine wearing a full wetsuit would look a bit odd in an indoor pool. Is this what you mean? Or is it for outdoor swimming and watersports?

A 2 or 3mm shorty will probably do the job in a pool, and will be easier to get in and out of. The fit is less critical for a shorty too. Decathlon often fit small and you can go try a few on.

Decathalon for that age.

Inside heated outside or river / sea swimming? All year round or just summer months.
Brand is relevant. You want thickness of the neoprene. 1mm is pretty pointless. 2mm for indoor or heated outdoor would probably be okay. 3mm for wild swimming in summer months with neoprene boots and maybe gloves would probably be fine. 5mm is designed for year round and cold conditions. 5mm boots and gloves. But practise swimming in a pool first before wild swimming as boots and gloves will hamper her strokes until she's used to swimming with them.
You can get neoprene swim suits. I suggest going to a proper diving shop for advice as a decent wetsuit is expensive, but well worth the investment.

Brand is irrelevant

Thanks so much everyone.
It's for indoor pool swimming which she loves but she just doesn't cope with the cold (I should have mentioned she has a heart issue which doesn't help on top of being skinny!)

I had no idea about brands or mm, so this has been so helpful.

I've ordered her a 2mm shorty. A pretty one 😍

One thing to know is that the fit needs to be snug. The suit works by trapping water that heats up and stays warm (so top tip, get it wet in a warm shower so she doesn't waste her precious warmth) but it only works if there is no "flow" so to speak. Ignore any age based sizing and get what fits. If the legs or arms are baggy it won't work so well.

Thanks, that's really helpful. I have ordered her age 7-8 and 9-10 as I just wasn't sure on the sizing.

She is in age 8 clothes at Next and M&S etc.
