Dentist closed during Invisalign treatment

Just wondered if anyone has been in a similar position as unsure what to do. I’m nearly at the end of my Invisalign treatment but still have attachments on my teeth and think I’ll need refinements. My dentist said they were closing for refurbishment but I’ve found out from the local paper the company has totally shut down. I’ve tried to get in touch but they’re not responding to calls/texts. I’m not sure if there’s anything I can do except pay for another dentist to finish my treatment? I can’t find any way to get in touch with Invisalign direct and don’t know if they’d be able to do anything.

Sorry, I don't have any actual advice but I feel really bad for you getting to this stage and for this to happen so near to the end. Am bumping the thread in case someone else can advise.

Send a registered letter to the surgery to ask about your treatment, try looking on companies house for the address of the directors of the dental surgery and send registered letters there too.

Invisalign will be no help , they are just a laboratory who produce the alligners.

Did you pay for any part of the treatment with a credit card ? If so you may be able to claim cash back because treatment has not been completed but you will have to show you have tried your best to contact surgery.

You will have to see an orthodontist to get your treatment finished and attachments removed. There will be charges for this . I dare say a few patients will have contacted them already about this . In the meantime keep wearing your most recent retainer to hold the teeth in place .

Thanks for your help - I’ll have a look for the Directors details and write to them. I paid through a loan company not on credit card. Yeah I tried Invisalign but they just directed me to other providers in the area. My NHS dentist now also does Invisalign privately so I’m going to speak to them and find out how much it will be to finish treatment.

You can switch provider. I’d speak to another orthodontist to ask about the process.
