Bit upset about this: dark web

I idly opened a credit score email today and mine has plummeted. I checked and it's due to dark web.

Emailed credit score company so I'll have to wait until they get back, phoned my mobile provider, contacted current account bank.

Not sure how this could have happened? No fraudulent activity. Phone company said they can tell I haven't used the dark web but my details are on there 🤷‍♀️😢

Had this today as well. My details are on the darkweb from several data breaches including the mumsnet breach and myfitnesspal. My email address and passwords are included in the breach. Not especially bothered about it 😕

It's not nice, is it? Well as long as it doesn't have any impact but no idea why it's affected my credit score. I'll look into getting it removed.

How did you find out @SparklyLimeJoker?

I got my usual email from clearscore and they've upgraded their page now to include these data breaches. I already knew mine was out there well before this though as I was getting emails from scammers with my email and password.

Did you get it off your report?

In fact checking again my email address is in 20 data breaches and my password is in 7.

I changed my passwords ages ago and have 2 factor authentication on most things now so not much they can do with the info.

Just checked mine on ClearScore and it's fine, same as always (1000 I'm aways so proud 😆) and I know my email and passwords have been included in previous breaches.

No it's just a new service they're doing by the looks of it you can sign up and pay for them to keep an eye on it for you.

I think most people's emails are compromised. I did a check on malwarebytes and of our email addresses only one wasn't 'out there'.
