Five a day

How well do you guys do with your five a day

I am historically very poor with it - however over the last few months I have been trying very hard to up our intake

so far today I have managed a chopped banana on my porridge and two mini cucumbers.

looking for inspiration or encouragement I suppose- or maybe the post will nudge someone to chomp something from their fruit bowl and I’ll just be content knowing I reminded someone else to have one of their five .

side note - managing to eat five biscuits however seems to carry no such struggle 🤷‍♀️ go figure

If your not great at just picking up a piece of fruit or veg:

Avo on toast
Bunch of grapes on the side and scoff a few when you walk past
Soups - broccoli and stilton, pea and ham, butternut squash and red pepper etc
Tray bakes - Chicken and med veg, roasted miso aubergine, roast green beans
Chili con carne - onions, peppers, carrots, beans, tomatoes, guacamole
Stir fry - seared broccoli, cabbage, onions, peppers

Just think of every meal as a vehicle to sneak is as much veg as you can.

I'm much better when I'm at work as I always have the following:

Banana as mid-morning snack
2 easy peeler oranges
an apple or pear

Will also usually have veg with my dinner. I had homemade soup for lunch that included carrots, potatoes etc so think I've done ok today.
