Nothing. I look forward to all the nonsense and expectation being over on the 26th.

Thanks for cheering me up tonight.

Vettrianofan · 14/11/2024 21:09

A new iron.

Error404pagenotfound · 14/11/2024 21:12

I don’t wear jewellery so that would be disappointing for me.

I would love some Uggs, the mule type ones look really comfortable.
A pair of super soft, comfy pyjamas
Books
Nice chocolates.

I have the Space NK advent calendar so that should satisfy any skincare cravings.

Basically I would just love to curl up on Christmas evening with new PJ’s, a good book and posh chocolate after a nice hot bath. I’m exhausted being a single mum, working, studying for a degree and caring for a terminally ill family member so just one night of relaxation would be perfect for me.

I’m boring and genuinely can’t think of anything I want.

My eternity ring I’ve ordered will be ready just in time for Christmas (hopefully) so I might tell my husband not to bother 🤣🤣

Beesandhoney123 · 14/11/2024 21:27

Johnny Depp, a crate of champagne and a big hotel room. No boring conversation either.

Checkedoutblanket · 14/11/2024 21:38

Everyone to work together to create a nice time by contributing to cooking and cleaning up. No arguments.

I'm genuinely so puzzled that mumsnetters are asking for Lego ???

Obviously I must be way behind the times, coz I thought Duplo was for the youngest.
Lego bricks and characters for children that have grown out of Duplo.
Oh yes I forgot there's Lego Technics.

What's happened in the last 25 years for adults to want Lego?

My desired Christmas gift would be anything that I might've put into conversation over the year, in the hopes I'd been listened to.
Hate it when I'm asked what I want as they "have no idea"....

One of my fave scenes from a film was when this guy had secretly watched the woman he loved, browsing market stalls.
She picked up a particular scarf I think it was, she indicated to the stall holder the price of it... she smiled, put the scarf down and walked away...
Some time later after the guy and girl got together, he (without any big show or fuss) just gave it to her... her face showed incredulity and amazement and pleasure all at the same time.
That scene has remained in my head for a long long time.

Oh before I sign off,
Merry Christmas everyone, I hope all your wishes get granted ... big or small.
Special wishes to the poster who wanted to get to the 26th, "for it all to be over".

anonny55 · 15/11/2024 04:50

Go look at the Lego Botanical Garden and you'll understand.

Building Lego is a relaxing activity that can also be social and great for all ages not just children.

But I don't expect people to be mind readers or pick up on performative hints, I prefer to choose my own stuff and buy it when I see it at a good price and when available rather than risking the things I want selling out or having a different version to the actual thing I want that someone else has chosen. I don't see the point of sending links either so other people can pat themselves on the back that they've given me a present by clicking on a link.

So I'm not bothered about being bought long lists of expensive things, I'm happy with some florentines and a relaxing day.
