DH and I are in Bristol for some Christmas shopping on 2nd and 3rd December. It's my birthday at Christmas so we'd like to incorporate a special dinner (not Christmas food). I have tried to book Riverstation but they are full. Any other recommendations - preferably in that area as that's where we are staying but happy to get a cab. We like all types of cuisine. Thanks.

We've always had great food and great service at the Harbour House:

There are loads of great restaurants in Bristol. Pasture is the best steak restaurant. You may struggle with reservations though. Nutmeg in Clifton Village is a nice 'fancy' curry house. Little French in Westbury. Pasta Ripiena in town centre. Wilson's in Westbury, tasting menu but not pretentious. Bravas on Whiteladies Road for Tapas also a good option. BOX-E in Wapping wharf. All are walkable from the harbour area. 30 minutes at most but if not a short taxi/bus ride away. Hope that helps!
