Sharing a nice story

Don't really have anyone to share this sort of thing with so hope it's okay to do here.

I've recently started needle felting. Often I'll sit and craft something of an evening. Yesterday I finished a leaf for a mobile I'm making for a friends baby. This is the chat I had this morning with my almost 6 year old. . .

'Did you make this mummy?'
'I did yes, last night'
'Its so lovely! I really like it!'
'Thank you!! I like it too'
'I really like how it looks like a leaf, but it also looks like a tree. Not all leaves look like trees, but some do, and this one does'
'That's exactly what I thought when I finished it!'
'The colours are nice too. It makes me feel happy. You should be really proud of yourself mummy, it's good. I'll put it back where I found it now'
'Thanks kiddo! And thanks for telling me'

I just felt so frickin seen, and appreciated, by a 5 year old 😂 I feel like up until now he's been pretty self centred, as small children are apt to be. Took me by surprise to have him be so complimentary and kind about something I've worked on. Am sat looking at the leaf again and it's just struck me how lovely that whole chat was <3 One to remember!

What a lovely story and he's cheered me up too. I'm having a rotten day waiting in for an extremely angry French plumber.

If the plumber's mum had been more like you perhaps I wouldn't be in the state I am today.

Oh no!! Sorry to hear that. What makes the plumber so angry?? Get yourself a snack and enjoy it in the garden maybe? Sometimes a bit of fresh air can do wonders. Was going to suggest a coffee but thought if you're waiting for a plumber perhaps there's no water...

Hope it's sorted soon!

He's just bloody French! And only about one centimetre taller than being legally a dwarf. Nope, no mains water. Hasn't been for two days. Might make myself a hot chocolate although you can bet he'll start hanging on the doorbell as soon as I sit down with it.

French angry dwarf.

Your son will not turn out like our new friend the plumber. Of this I am sure. x

Haha well judging by his current height they certainly have their differences!

I hope your situation is resolved swiftly and the plumber cheers up.

Hey! It turned out alright! He said the water leak in the downstairs chemist's wasn't my fault and didn't charge me anything.
It was their faulty air conditioning/reversible heating system which they had turned from suck to blow - it being colder these last few days and whatnot.
The chemist is a Belgian and about 6'8" but I'm sure that counts for nothing.
