I need to buy plates

I have a mismatch of plates at home, some chipped, etc. For the first time in many years I have guests for Christmas and I want to take this opportunity to replace my plates. So I am looking for 8 dinner plates and 8 side plates. I don't want to spend a fortune but at the same time I want something nice. I usually find Ikea okay, so that can be an option (I like these ones for example: www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/faergklar-plate-lilac-90600432/), but I wanted to hear of your online recommendations also. I don't want anything that's just plain white, too modern, too large, non-standard shape, etc. I like this sort of thing:https://www.anthropologie.com/en-gb/shop/old-havana-dinner-plates-set-of-4?category=kitchen-dinnerware&color=066&type=REGULAR&size=Set+of+4&quantity=1
but I like lots of other designs also, I don't mind them being different, but definitely Ikea prices, not Anthropologie 😉

I don't know about either, but in terms of quality, I did not rate cheap plates/ dinner sets from Dunelm but the John Lewis Anyday ones I bought were great.

The M&S Maxim range has done me well for years. Personally I don't like food served on some coloured plates and prefer to stick to white. Tableware | Dinnerware at M&S

I always go to John Lewis for crockery, their any day range is fine.

Try Ebay. If you put in well-known makes such as Denby, Royal Doulton, or quality shop names such as John Lewis or Marks and Spencer, you will be able to see a wide selection of styles. They are often better quality than more modern sets and cheaper.

Generally I don't like Tesco at all but I have bought some v nice plates from there in the past (admittedly a while ago).

Our best plates are from M&S but have those Ikea plates as well - they have a Denby vibe
