Hello im wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation to me, i have been placed in temporary accommodation by my council but in an another area, 25 minutes away! i have been here since April so 7 months now and when i recently asked about being moved back to my hometown area where my council is as i also have provided medical notes from my gp also

the temporary accommodation team sent me a e-mail saying i should go through a Suitability review?? ive not heard of this before but im wondering has anyone gone through this way? and what was the outcome? if anyone has any other advice or tips to get myself and my family moved back to where we want to be please share ur thoughts.

It is miserable not to be where you want. But 25min really doesn’t sound like a lot to me. I have had much longer commutes to work/ family etc in the past.
what aspect is making it the hardest? Do you like the home you are in otherwise?
it feels like there could be a danger that you get moved closer, but to less good housing in other ways.

25 minutes isn’t that far, there may not be anything suitable in your previous area. You may not get a choice if the council are providing you accommodation, it’s wherever it is available.
