Which job?

I currently work in a job which I love and loathe in equal measure. It is the most stressful job I have ever done. I work an extra hour at least every day, never get time for an (unpaid) lunch and it leaves me emotionally spent at the end of the day. I have no flexibility and am out of the house from 07 20 until 18 15. I get paid £28k per year but I get school holidays and a good pension. It can be very rewarding and it sucks you in.

Today, I have had two offers of alternative employment. My DH is involved with a start up and they need a Customer Service advisor. I would make my own role. It would be WFH. Only £25k and no pension but with the potential to grow and then hopefully build a team underneath. There is no certainty though and only funding for a year if it does not self fund.

I have also been offered my previous job back but in a better location (the reason why I left). It is 34k pa, some degree of flexibility with the occasional WFH day and a very good pension. It is a public sector role though and similar to my current job in terms of unrealistic expectations and stress.

At the moment I'm leaning towards the biggest risk and walking away from public service (where I have always been). Money aside this would be the best for family life.

What would you do in this situation?
