Stupid questions about moving house

I know I need to ask the specific company but happy for general ideas.

Do I really need to label everything?

Will they cover mattresses/ couches etc or just lift and go?

We are likely to move in early January... what happens in bad weather? Like a freak Beast from the East?

Any tips or hints very gratefully received.

I have always got people in to pack. It's much easier.

They label the boxes - eg kitchen and if you're lucky a bit more detail - eg plates and crockery

If there is bad weather you still move.

The packing service is eyewatering unfortunately. Do I need to label things like side tables etc?

We packed for ourselves.
We were lucky enough to he able to empty a bedroom ( dismantle the bed) and all the packed boxes went in there. Each box was numbered with a list of contents on a digital and paper spreadsheet. The box itself had a summary list of contents.

Every box and piece of furniture had a label on it saying which room it was going in in the new house.

It worked and isn't as onerous as it sounds.
