If you had the chance to. Feel free to be more specific as some countries have wide regional disparities. I would move to Belgium.

Spain, preferably Fuerteventura.

I'm In Spain right now, just sitting and watching our third storm of this month. It's lashing down. It's been absolutely terrible weather lately.

WhatsitWiggle · 12/11/2024 22:28

Cyprus. I've thought about it several times. English widely spoken, drive on the left, plug sockets same as UK. Love the food and the weather.

MrsAvocet · 12/11/2024 22:32

Belgium for me too. Flanders specifically. I've enjoyed visiting many countries for holidays but Belgium is the only country other than the UK that I could imagine myself living permanently.

countdowntonap · 12/11/2024 22:33

Formentera, Spain
Naxos, Greece
Syros, Greece

I loved there for a few years. It's incredibly expensive and boring. Horrible treatment of animals too and you'll get ignored quite a bit doing important stuff like using government offices/sorting car etc if you are a woman.
It does have nice weather though apart from feb.

Redlarge · 12/11/2024 22:40

I think spain or Holland

TheMotherShipAhoy · 12/11/2024 22:42

Hm. I'm unsure about this one.
I'd say Scandinavia,. but given the predicted imminent collapse of AMOC, the northern countries are in for such a significant drop in temperatures that they will likely become uncomfortably cold, prohibiting agriculture and necessitating expensive and essentially unsustainable imports of energy and resources. I do worry about my Scandinavian friends.

Bodiceandbraces · 12/11/2024 22:42

Why would you like to move to Belgium?
I lived there for years and found so , so many aspects incredibly difficult.

queenofthewild · 12/11/2024 22:43

The Netherlands. Moved there once in the past and I yearn to go back.

Perfectlystill · 12/11/2024 22:44

Denmark because I love the Danes and their friendly, laidback attitude. Plus the outdoor life.

Why on earth Finland @SuperLoudPoppingAction ?

MorrisZapp · 12/11/2024 22:45

Germany! I'm Scottish.

Cravingtoffeeapples · 12/11/2024 22:46

I’m in Portugal, not all it’s cracked up to be

All these countries sound great in theory. But I'm in Spain watching torrential rain out my window.

EmiliaRuusuvuori · 12/11/2024 22:51

Denmark or Sweden.

EveryDayisFriday · 12/11/2024 22:52

Norway if I could speak the language.

So? No one thinks it doesn't rain in Spain.

Beezknees · 12/11/2024 22:54

None really. I'm shit at languages so wouldn't live anywhere where English wasn't the first language. I'd feel rude living somewhere if I couldn't speak their language.

If language was not a barrier, then Spain.

HRTQueen · 12/11/2024 22:55

Spain or Italy

with lots of trips home

I didn't mean it doesn't rain at all in Spain.

Spain is having unusually bad weather this year.

It's not just raining.

It is absolutely torrential downpours and storms every week lately. The weather is not bad, it is frightening.

200 people were killed in a flood here recently.

Gingerbee · 12/11/2024 23:04

Portugal or the Netherlands.
Although, if I had my European citizenship back I could travel around and find where I really wanted to live.

UmbrellaEllaEllaElla · 12/11/2024 23:06

Germany
