Do you spend money every day?

I do and I’m really trying hard to have some no spend days but there’s always something! Even just needing bread and milk and this suddenly turns into spend &10/£15 in Tesco picking up other bits. Other days can be train fare to work and then realising I need a drink/snack to go with lunch I’ve brought. It’s not massive amount every day but after looking at bank statement there’s something on there every day! Anyone else?

I have a rule not to spend on a Sunday, growing up all the shops were shut on Sundays and I still have that nowhere is open on a Sunday mentality. Sundays are a break from the hamster wheel.
I have a dedicated bank account for bills and another one for food and general expenses.
My Monzo account is for ‘frittering’: coffee/brunches with the girls, books, stuff I haven’t budgeted for. I put £150 in it every month, but I don’t make it a mission to spend it all, it’s there. This month I paid for entry to an exhibition, a book and a pair of kitten heel sandals (reduced to £32 from £90).

What I am saying is I think having separate pots helps me not spend every day.

Usually yes but today will be a no spend day. Day off work and full of cold, so not going anywhere. I work in a supermaket though, so every day at work i buy something. Even if it's just my lunch but 9 times out of 10, there's something I need or a bargain to be had. On my 2 days off I might go out for a coffee or pop to somewhere different or buy something online. Don't need anything today though.

No. I've often lived on very little and budgeted carefully. The best way to save money is to just not go to the shops! If I avoid them, I'm amazed at how little I spend. And I use cash. Spending with a card, especially contactless, doesn't feel like giving something away so it's easier to spend more. I can see what's left in my purse.

No, I used to before I started tracking spends. I try to have more NSDs in a week than spend days.

You can pay by phone these days and very few people leave their phone at home

That's one reason why I don't pay by phone.

I go food shopping a couple of times a week, there is almost never popping out for milk and if we needed to we will just buy the milk. I dislike shopping including online. I have a present stash where I buy stuff in sales. I am the opposite to an impulse buyer.

Over the last 7 days I have spent £40 and £35 on grocery shopping for 2 of us, £5 on food to eat on the go and £30 on lunch at a cafe, £1.25 on a library fine.

Every single day without fail but it is more to do something that is not work or parent or cook or clean or walk dogs etc but yes I would spend something every day be it a fiver on a top up of bread or milk, home economics stuff the kids would need for school or just maybe a midweek treat or bottle of wine.

No I don't spend everyday. Live rural so no corner shops etc work from home so no commute.
At the moment we have lots of birthdays and trying to slowly prepare for Christmas so it's more than usual online shopping. I really really really hate it though. Should probably budget more for this time of year or start earlier but it feels like I'm not stop scrolling online for gifts. I'm not someone who has much social media or uses the Internet without intention. It feels like such wasted time (although its not I want my children to have gifts they want for birthdays) but 4 birthdays/occasions to buy for in a month then Christmas prep too is just too much for me.

Summertime I can go whole months without spending anything (usual bills mortgage food aside) it's so freeing!
