Fire Alarm

Fire alarm just went off because the toaster went wrong and made lots of smoke
But I really really can't see waking me up in the night
Does that mean it's low battery? Surely they have to be really loud?

Well yeah thats the point. Try new batteries or if its sealed just replace it.

Worth trying new battery but be ready to replace. Can hear mine from far end of the (fairly large) garden with all windows & doors closed. Though we have multiple which are linked so if one goes off they all will.
I think one in my kitchen are heat detectors but rest are smoke.

Check any carbon monoxide ones while at it.

Yes, I just have battery ones, not linked, but they are LOUD. It's absolutely unbearable to be near them. Just cheap one bought from Argos.

What does it sound like when you test it? I'd make sure you have them in the correct areas
