Have I overreacted ? - Nursery

My old 10 month old daughter came home with this scratch today. Pic attached.

This is the 3rd time she's been attacked by the same child. I always have to ask the nursery workers directly if she's been "attacked" (for the lack of a better word, I don't want to sound overdramatic) They give me an accident form, but never tell me directly what happened. Only when I dig further they tell me what happened.

I have now fired off an email to the nursery manager and asked them to supervise the children's interactions more closely so that this won't happen again.

That would be hugely frowned upon by Ofsted if you were to exclude a child, especially a baby.

It’s not something you have written anywhere, but the safety of the other children comes first. I have had a couple of under twos that would constantly bite and scratch other kids. They could not be near another child.

Definitely not over reacting. I think I would just leave it to air, I don’t think it’ll scar. Your poor daughter though! I’d be keeping a close eye on the nursery. Hopefully it doesn’t happen again. ‘Its developmental’ makes no sense and isn’t accurate, it’s not a developmental stage for a 1 year old to deeply scratch the face of another baby. Stay vigilant OP.

I would find another nursery. Or the child who attacked your child should be told to leave. A nursery has to be a safe place.
