Post hidden on Vinted - what else can I do??

Please help a Vinted newbie.

A couple of days ago, I put a Didriksons coat on Vinted. The coat has a faux fur trim to the hood, which I mentioned in the copy. The ad was very quickly hidden and I got a message telling me that 'there is reason to believe that you're selling prohibited animal products'.

To unhide it, I was told I need to post a pic of the label showing that there is no animal fur, or other proof that it is synthetic. The label simply says that the coat is 100% polyester. I duly posted the pic and changed the copy to state it is synthetic fur. I have no other proof.

I messaged Vinted with screenshots of the Didriksons webpages showing that it's synthetic but had no response. The coat remains hidden on the listing.

Other similar coats with synthetic fur trim, faux fur hats and fur coats all appear to be advertised with no problem!

I appreciate there is some weird algorithm going on here and it's all automated messages ... But what more can I do? No reply from Vinted yet. How long can they take??

They will get to you. It is probably because it's has to be reviewed by an actual person rather than an automated system.

Ok, thanks. Patience is not my virtue ... ;)

Vinted is terrible for this.

I have several pairs of nursing/surgical scrubs (pricey ones) that are now too big for me. No matter what I do, the listings get hidden, banned and then I get a very stern warning from the vinted bot telling me I am selling a prohibited item, that they are ‘uniform’ - they absolutely are not!

Every time I send in screen shots of other scrubs and the listings and every time I am threatened with being banned. You can sell a super slutty sexy nurse costume, but not scrubs.

Good luck! I would remove the work ‘due’ and just put ‘faux trim’

You could delete the listing if it will let you and reupload with different wording. Agree with PP about avoiding the word fur.

I put on vinted a small Xmas tree crafted and made of upcycled tree branches, then formed in a Xmas tree shape, because I had described them as 24inches and one at 15 they messaged me to say I had to take it down or register as a commercial seller , or I was banned for 7 days, I contested it explained it's a hobby I had two only selling two have no-more , I was told had to wait 140hrs for a response, what a performance.

Sigh. It's ridiculous, isn't it? I had already removed the word 'fur' since I posted my OP, but still hidden ... 🤷‍♀️

Yup. I’ve never managed to resolve it.

Yep that's the next step. So frustrating! Just sticking in the word 'fur' returns so many results, it's clearly not a blanket ban.

Take new photos too.

Furry instead of fur?

JoanThursday · 12/11/2024 22:10

I deleted the entire post and rewrote the copy, without even mentioning the bloody hood.

I got a message saying that the post was no longer hidden. All is well, it seemed. And then it got hidden again for apparently still trading in animal products.

Still no response from Customer 'service'. I've given up and buggered off to eBay! Same copy, same photos. No problem at all.
