Heart palpitations or stomach issues?

Hi guys,

so my who is 58 has been experiencing what she describes as heart palpitations she went to the hospital a few times as she got scared and everytime her ecg and blood tests were normal, she only experiences this sensation when she eats or drinks somethings, once she eats she feels like something ‘drops’ around her chest area and sort of bounces and now she’s paying attention to them she feels like they are happening in the middle of the chest rather then on the left side.

we are waiting for a 24 hour ecg appointment which the gp has suggested to do next, she is travelling by air next week is a bit nervous the gp has said she can travel as they don’t see anything visibly wrong with her heart atm.

she has had a history of stomach issues, could this be a sensation related to the stomach and she gets them 98% after she eats or drinks something, just wondering if it’s happened to anyone else?

I experienced similar and was diagnosed with high blood pressure. I think my blood pressure goes higher after eating especially if the meal contains salt. I’m just guessing really.

She already has high blood pressure but she takes medication and is generally under control. Just wonder what it could be as w whale to wait for a 24 hour ecg to find out and appiontment is near Christmas 😭

Could it be reflux? I have palpitations and ear ringing from reflux. Took forever to figure out it was that. Always worse if I’m having a reflux episode and if I am then it is always after eating. I can feel breathless too.

She doesn’t actually have a reflux episode she’s always gotten pain in her stomach and some acid reflux but she doesn’t get any of that during the palpitations
