Strictly Come Dancing

Is BBC's strictly come dancing the only competition in the world where a 2 to 1 judges verdict is considered a draw? Seems very strange to me!

It's a fair point. Other shows with 4 judges go back to the public vote if it's a draw. They don't let it come down to one person. I think that is much more fair.

Yes, and when head judge Shirley casts her vote at 2/1 it is actually 2/2 so for a contestant to then 'win' it must mean, as Head judge, her vote must be more important than the other 3 judges which seems unfair.

Yes, they always say she has the deciding vote, so the only way it doesn't go her way is if all of the other 3 disagree. Shirley is also well known for having favourites and I don't think she judges fairly. I feel that when Len was in charge, he would have judged the dance off completely impartially.

Head judges vote carries more weight. Daft as it sounds imo.

Essentially, the head judge has a fifth vote.

So it isn't 2:1

She votes last.

If the other three agree, she doesn't have to vote, because it would still be 3:2

But if her ordinary vote makes it 2:2 she then gets a casting vote on top. That then makes it 3:2.

Yes, Len was much better, very fair.

Hasn't SCD always been biased? The public vote is vaised to the popular contestants. The judges might not be completely fair.

Its not a pure dancing competition

I still like the show , but it seems to be more about the judges than the celebs and the voting is all over the place sometimes
Shayne Ward was robbed.
