Someone please talk to me about the movie Kinds of Kindness? Warning: Spoilers

I don't know what to think of it, but I want to understand it.

I guess the first (of the 3 stories) is an allegory for blindly following religion? Is that what other people think it is about?

The third (to me) was just a plain old cult story.

But the middle one has me stumped. What did I miss? She chops off parts of her body for him, dies, but then walks through the door at the end?

Are they all connected?? Help me please?

I think that all three stories are about power and abuse, and the lengths that people will go to when they're trying to appease someone powerful, and not being able to see when the relationship turns into an abusive one because by that point they're consumed by it. And in the middle story I think she is the real Liz, and so desperate to convince him of it that she ends up killing herself to try to please him, and the Liz that we see at the end is his unhinged brain imagining the 'real' Liz coming back.

But I also think any other interpretation works 😁
