Have you ever worn anything decent?

I saw another thread, asking if you had ever won anything decent. I thought it said worn 😂 so I was thinking back.

When I was a size 12 years ago, I bought a designer dress for a special occasion. It was in a second hand designer shop. If I say so myself, it looked fabulous on me. It was figure hugging, knee length and coloured gold. That’s the first and last time I bought anything that expensive.

I had some designer shoes that I bought cheaply as one of the straps was broken. A cobbler fixed it for £3. The comfiest shoes ever, and looked great with jeans, skirts, dresses etc. I miss those shoes.

The only thing I've ever won is Bend it Like Beckham on DVD. I was 15 or 16 at the time and had entered a competition on a BBC website.

Sadly the answer is a no from me!

Looks like you're not alone in misreading "worn" for "won", Ebabllisstggoffor😀

No, I’ve had clothes/ shoes/ accessories that I’ve loved but never anything designer or even particularly good quality. Basic stuff I had years ago was really good quality compared to the stuff in the shops now though.

I won £50 a few years ago from McDonald's monopoly.

What are you thinking of with "decent", OP? Designer labels? I've seldom seen anything in those I'd want to wear even if they were free. I always wear decent shoes, they're the only things I spend significant money on, because I need comfortable, supportive shoes/boots for my orthotics. Diana Ferrari and Colorado are my favourite brands these days, and a decent pair of boots is likely to cost $300 unless on sale.

I bought an Armani diffusion wool and cashmere coat in a sale heavily discounted to 300 quid, which was a lot of money back in those days (twenty something years ago). I loved that coat, so warm and soft, and wore it until it was really too threadbare to be respectable.
