Trapped nerve, I think?

I've had some muscular chest pain for the past 3 or 4 days, in line with my armpit. Ignored it as assumed it was from carrying my large 6 year old at an event on the 6th. This evening I have just finished a 4 hour drive, and the pain is immense. Chest pain is still there. Neck pain, arm pain, upper back pain, shoulder pain, occasional pins and needles in fingers. I can't do anything about it tonight and plan on calling my GP tomorrow. Sounds like a 'trapped' nerve doesn't it?

You need to go to A&E, you should not be driving.

It was very minor pain and only hurt when I moved my shoulder up, presumed muscular, very definitely not heart pain, felt OK whilst driving (almost non existent) then got a lot worse after a couple of hours post getting home. Has calmed down a bit as have taken some ibuprofen.

It could be a million things other than this but the first sign I had shingles was several days of intense shoulder pain. I'd been painting the weekend before and assumed I'd pulled a muscle doing it. But it didn't seem to get better and then I woke up with the telltale rash and it all made sense.

Thought I'd just mention it in case.
