I'm not sure if chat is the best place for this so feel free to report and have moved elsewhere if somewhere is more appropriate.

If you were to attend a celebratory meal as a couple where would you go? UK only, price is not exactly an object (don't want to spend thousands but be happy as a one off if it's a few hundred each).

Partner enjoys a glass of wine with a fancy meal but I don't drink so alcohol isn't important in the decision making. I'd just like something unique, great food, somewhere I couldn't normally justify bar this one occasion next year.

Where are you in the country OP?

The pig restaurants are lovely in the south. Hawksmoor is really good (and I’m a pescetarian!)

On the Derbyshire/South Yorks border so very central for England. Happy to travel almost anywhere in the UK and make a weekend of it if needed. Will Google Hawksmoor!

Had a quick look at Hawksmoor but with it being a chain I'm not sure it's quite the right thing for me. Really hoping for a unique or different experience to celebrate what will be a one off huge achievement for me professionally. ☺️

If you want to make a weekend of it The Peat Inn in Fife is really lovely, they have rooms too so you could stay over - one of the nicest weekends I’ve had.

Maybe the Fish in the Cotswolds? You could stay in a treehouse too..

Gareth Wards restaurant in Wales is your one for unique experience! You can also stay overnight. It’s pricey but incredible. Definitely a one off thing to do

I personally really want to go to Le Manoir Aux Quat'Saisons once in my life. I understand that the food is very 'pure' and not necessarily spectacular or spicy - a proper foodie experience.

Thanks everyone, will Google all the suggestions!

Have a look at Boringdon Hall for a weekend away, spa and Michelin star dining. The main restaurant is still fabulous for the rest of your meals!
