I'm looking to book Efteling for a few days around Easter next year and would like some advice from others that have been before.
Would you reccomend the Efteling accommodation?
I'm looking at 3 park days is that too many will we run out of things to do?
Food, I love a foreign supermarket is there one close by or is it a case of surviving on park food?
Anything else I need to know?

we spend four days and there tonnes to do ! Albert Heijn is walkable (it’s in the town about less than 10 min)

Spagettifunctional · 10/11/2024 08:48

Sorry I meant to add all the accommodation is beautiful

Accommodation is fab. We’ve done a house and a hotel. The house was really clean and spacious. The hotel was obviously smaller but really fun room and my kids loved the buffet breakfast.

The Albert Hjen supermarket is walkable and great selection of food but might be a faff on foot with DC depending on their age. There are no places at the park to buy self catering type food but there are lots of restaurants and fast food places for lunch/dinner.

ps I don’t think you will get bored in three days. My kids love it and ask to go back often.

@Nousernameforme I will see you there! At some point I was planning on asking about rides and general advice.

I live a theme park trip.

It's my first time booking a holiday abroad so I'm struggling with all the organising but it's the main christmas present. They have so much stuff we are doing experiences this year instead. My dc are older so walking won't be an issue having looked there's plenty for them to both do.

We didn’t stay at Efteling, but we were there at Easter this year and it was fab. Also I thought it was very reasonably priced for food etc compared to places like Disneyland Paris

RealHousewivesOfTaunton · 10/11/2024 09:28

I love Efteling, as do the kids. We've never stayed on site as we've always gone for the last day of a longer trip on our way back to the ferry. Food is varied and pretty reasonable. There's loads to do!

Clearinguptheclutter · 10/11/2024 09:34

We loved it. Then went to Disneyland Paris but we all preferred Efteling. We were there thrree days but had to leave at lunchtime on the last day. Three days is perfect as you won’t need to rush. 2 would be ok. One would be not enough.

stayed in one of the “treehouses” in loonsche land, which was small but fun

we didn’t go offsite but there are supermarkets etc nearby, probably a bit of a faff unless you have a car

BUT the food generally at Efteling was excellent especially the lunchtime buffets When we were there (June) the park basically closed at 6 which I thought was a bit early but the restaurants closed later (7 I think) which still felt early. There are some (paid) shows on but the evenings were quiet. In peak times it is def open later

3 days would be too much in my opinion. We did every ride we wanted more than once in just one day. A second day would give you more time to explore the fairytale forest etc. We stayed off-site at Marvilla Parks in a chalet as it was way cheaper than the Efteling accommodation. We did have to drive to the park though, about 10 minutes. We found food inside the park quite pricy, although not compared to Disney I suppose. Local supermarkets were good. The best thing was that queues in the park were quite short so you could get a lot done.
