Sainsbury's Tu Returns

I purchased pyjama bottoms in Sainsburys 15 miles away which I wish to return. (No matching tops in stock.)
We have a local store half that distance from me which has a TU collection point.
However, It says if collected from Sainsburys, it can be returned from the collection point.

I didn't collect it though but purchased it in store, no bag and a regular receipt. I've never used a collection point but assume it needs packaging and a returns form.
Am I going to have to make a 30 mile round trip to return them?

Just take it back in to your local store with receipt. They will refund you dont need to package it

Can you call/tweet them to ask?

It's a local, as in a convenience store. They don't sell clothes. We're in the backwoods here.
I once asked in there for Tahini. After I explained what is was, she said " Oh no, we don't do foreign stuff. My husband always says, better to stick to meat and two veg." She was the supervisor!

I think you can return items from Sainsbury's to Argos too, if that helps.

I still think they’ll accept returns, worth a try.

I'd speak to them on LiveChat or something as my experience is that they are quite strict about returns needing both the receipt and the hanger.
I never take hangers from shops and rarely take the receipt when I'm doing the supermarket shop but had problems a couple of times in both Asda and Sainsburys when I'd put clothes through on the supermarket shop and then wanted to return them as they wouldn't let me return or exchange them. They just don't have the same tracking measures in place as M&S or John Lewis so can't (or won't) match that an item was sold from a particular branch at a particular time with your bank statement for example and rely on that.
I certainly wouldn't drive 15 miles not knowing if I'd actually get my money back or eve be able to exchange them. The school socks & shirts I'd picked up went to the food bank and the PJs I'd bought myself went to the charity shop.

Yes you can return any store purchased clothing anywhere. Doesn't matter if have the hanger or not, a lot of people don't take them to make packing into carrier bags easier.

Labels still on? If you don't have the receipt but scanned your nectar card the purchase can be tracked that way (need to tell them the store it was purchased so they can use the store number to cross reference the purchase). If you have the receipt - brilliant.

If you don't have the receipt or used the nectar card (and labels still on), they can still refund it but only at what price it then scans - may be an item that has since gone on sale since you bought it - and the value should be put onto a gift card to spend in a store at anytime. The gift card being as there is no way of proving the way it was originally paid by.

That's the policy we are told. Yes I work for Sainsbury's. Hope that helps 😊
