If you won the 15 million lotto jackpot tonight, what would you do with the money?

I would sleep very very well for the first time in years.

I would buy a large home for me and my dcs.

I would have a nice holiday with them every year.

I would buy each of them a flat for when they are older.

I would ensure my wider family were mortgage free.

I would make regular charitable donations.

StMarie4me · 09/11/2024 20:33

Buy a house.
Pay off my middle son's mortgage
But my eldest and youngest children houses.
Give them all a share of cash so it's equal.
Set my disabled DD27 up for life.
Buy a new car.
Retire. 😊

Bixterret · 09/11/2024 20:38

Buy an Aston Martin

Pay off my sons mortgage

Give equivalent to other sons

Fly to the Maldives with my girlfriends

Rain11 · 09/11/2024 20:39

Quit my job, move to the countryside, buy a house in Spain, and do IVF.

Oh I am so sorry Flowers @nomorehocuspocus

I'm just fed up of them going off just as DD is trying to go to sleep, and on random weeknights particularly

It has been relentless this year. That's the trouble with a midweek 5th November. We had them the Friday, Saturday and Sunday the weekend before, then Tuesday, then last night and again tonight. I really don't think those whopper fireworks should be kept for organised displays and not sold to the public at all. Small ones, fair enough, but the ones with the really loud bangs? Nope.

NatalieH2220 · 09/11/2024 20:46

Get my son a private assessment and some support.

Take my boys to Disney, Florida.

Hire a cleaner.

Gall10 · 09/11/2024 20:47

Turn up the heating to 22° and leave there.
Nowt much else!

Frowningprovidence · 09/11/2024 20:51

I'd buy a nice house and car, set my children up, help my sibling out, go on holiday. I reckon I could do that with 3 of the 15 million.

I would resign. Then with my time I'd set up a provision for adults with complex needs in my town so they had somewhere really good quality to go in the day and give family respite. I'd stump up the set up costs, and make it a charity and hopefully subsidise the running costs a little. So maybe 4 million on the premises, equipment etc and the rest invested to give the charity an ongoing income. but social care would have to pay ongoing fees too as they do now anyway but there currently isnt local provision so they have fewvhours a long minibus jouney away.

tobee · 09/11/2024 20:52

Help my family
Redecorate the house either to stay in or sell.
Get investment advice
Eat lots of fresh fish 🐟 ☺️
Travel extensively
Get a makeover probably 😬

Sanch1 · 09/11/2024 20:55

Pay off the mortgage. Pay off all our siblings mortgages. Then go on holiday and think about what to do next.

ArcticBells · 09/11/2024 20:56

SnuffleTruffleHound · 09/11/2024 19:32

Move somewhere remote

This

justusandthecat · 09/11/2024 20:58

Take the kids to Disney. Lovely hot beach holiday for me and my partner. Buy the house I've loved since I was a kid and get a new car.
But first I would email my boss and make some very creative suggestions on where he could stick his job and advise him to do it sideways.

CheshireCat1 · 09/11/2024 20:58

I’d probably give most of it away and start up a donkey sanctuary.

TheChosenTwo · 09/11/2024 21:01

Pay off mortgages of our nearest and dearest, move, book some big extended family holidays and some more just for the 5 of us.
Volunteer in the area that interests me - dh wouldn’t give up work, he loves his job and never sees himself retiring but I think I could manage it 😂

EveryDayisFriday · 09/11/2024 21:10

I'd keep it really quiet, pay off mortgage and finish off renovations at home. I'd carry on working for a while, I like my job, maybe go PT. DH would definitely quit his. Book some decent long haul holidays. Top up pensions and investments and sit on the majority of the funds until I can really decide how it would best serve us. I'd like some income producing assets so would look into setting up a passive income business. Commercial landlord or something like that.

I think about this more than I care to admit 😅 I have a list of 20 or so people I would want to give a significant about to (friends and family). I really want to open a zombie apocalypse experience in the old toys r us building near me! And save some so I don’t have to work again. I would probably do another degree in something theatrey and just live my best life!

Zombie apocalypse sounds amazing! I hope you get to do this one day

Gettingbysomehow · 09/11/2024 21:20

I would hire a top solicitor snd lay waste to the nhs department who has been fucking me about for a whole year leaving me in agony.

Frostymornings49 · 09/11/2024 21:28

Open an animal sanctuary (after a few amazing holidays first!)

Pust · 09/11/2024 21:35

Been thinking about this today, as I went down a hole of looking at various lovely houses abroad. Probably move out of the country, nice car, nice house, lots of travelling on lovely holidays, get myself access to good healthcare and solve my various issues.

housemaus · 09/11/2024 21:44

Move house to the area we'd like to live in. Quit my job and retrain as something I really want to do but that doesn't pay much (maybe an indication of how I feel this week that this made me want to cry at the thought!). Buy my mum, dad and sister a house (we live in a cheap area and none of them own property/have any money). Put a chunk of money in mine and DH's pensions. Donate to a couple of local charities that are important to me. Buy DH the silly car he's always wanted. Pay for absolutely top of of the line trauma therapy for him. Doing some back of an envelope maths that would still 'only' cost me about 3 million, including replacing my salary for 2 years to train and reasonably generous donations to two very small charities which would make a big difference to them, plus maxing our our pensions. The rest I'd invest!

Strawberrycheesecake7 · 09/11/2024 21:51

I would buy a bigger house and pay people to clean and maintain it so I could focus on looking after my son without worrying about anything else.

Darkautumnnights · 09/11/2024 21:54

Very little

I don’t have a mortgage and I wouldn’t move

i woukdnt pay off anyone else’s mortgage either.
I also dont think I would give up work

I would however replace my kids car as it’s on its last legs, but they would still have to share. I’d get a polo of something

I would buy each of them a 2 bed flat in zone 2 and I would only fly business if I am going anywhere further than Europe.

I wouldn’t pay for their uni or repay their loans

finally I would make a research donation to the royal Marsden for a specific project

MillyMichaelson · 09/11/2024 22:00

Post my laptop to my office so I don't have to make the commute ever again, set up my own business, and employ all of the best people I've worked with over the years.

I find it so odd you've spent so much time thinking of ways you wouldnt help your children.

Fleur405 · 09/11/2024 22:11

I would calculate my gross pay for my three month notice period and have a bankers draft in that sum sent to my boss along with a note telling him that he will not be hearing from me again. From somewhere very luxurious.
