Ant McPartlin and in particular his wife lying about her age. She's always reported as being 46. She was born in 1976.

Most cake decorations.

The word foodie.
Foodies.
Fuck off.

Yes! For foodie I read pretentious twat.

Blackcountryexile · 09/11/2024 21:32

People who walk up to a bus stop and get on the bus, ignoring the rest of us who have been waiting longer.
Loud phones on public transport.
People who appear oblivious to anyone around them so anyone nearby is in danger of being knocked over or trodden on.

I need to stop getting so annoyed by stupid things people do and acting before I think. Two weeks ago a man (drunk, possible issues) on the seat in front of me on the packed top deck of the bus lit a big cigar and started waving it around. People were outraged etc. / tutting / saying “put it out” etc. He was telling everyone to F off and all the rest.

Before I knew what I’d done, I leaned forward, plucked it from between his fingers and threw it out of the bus window. He stood up and swung at me but luckily missed, then he started a fight with someone else 🤷 and was bundled off the bus. I had a lucky escape

What a legend🤣 I’d have loved to witness this.

Mine is my local Waitrose- they’ve recently done away with all the manned tills bar one so if you have a trolley of stuff there’s literally one till no matter how long the queue. Meanwhile they have loads of staff stood around in groups of three or four gossiping literally every time you go in (it’s been like this for years and dd and I laugh and point them out every time we go in).

Cyclists who ring their bike bell in order to get you off the path so they can charge past.

What are they supposed to do?(genuine question)

ACapybaraNamedFred · 09/11/2024 21:38

@orangetriangle Surely, the key phrase here is "adult children" though. It's not up to parents to say what career you have once you're over 18. Of course if the child is living at home and refuses to pay rent because they refuse to work then that's a little different.

The lawn mowing in November is batshit though.

GreenMarigold · 09/11/2024 21:39

Rubbish like the Travel Show being shown on the BBC news. I want to see actual news, not a travel programme.

Dawdlers in the street or on the road. Let’s all just get to where we are going please!

The office radio. It’s honestly unbearable for me to listen to radio 1. I don’t understand why it’s ok to inflict one style of music on everyone else.

People who have put their address in ebay all in lower case

I think this is the most irritating thing mentioned so far! Hate it!

ChickenSlims · 09/11/2024 21:47

People using those god awful Facebook avatar backgrounds completely inappropriately - "Does anyone no wot time Spar shuts" on the birthday cake background, or that ridiculous basketball one. Gives me the absolute rage.

LivingOnTheVeg · 09/11/2024 21:47

When people type “do’s and don’ts”. Even if the apostrophe in do’s was at all correct, why doesn’t anyone open their fucking eyes and see the apostrophe in don’ts (that they’re presumably trying to match) is in a different place?! If you’re going to twat incorrect apostrophes everywhere then at least do a consistent do’s and don’t’s (and then promptly throw yourself in the bin).

Poor SPaG in general leaves me unnecessarily livid but I think this is the one that’ll finish me off.

Zebrassiere · 09/11/2024 21:49

Boring people dominating a conversation but not saying anything interesting, clever or witty but for some reason acting like whatever they are saying is interesting, clever or witty.

Beaverbridge · 09/11/2024 21:52

GameOfJones · 09/11/2024 20:01

Adults using the word "yummy."

This one hundred fold. Partners sister, who's a fake snob, always says it when a plate of ordinary food is placed in front of her. Partner said it once and got the death stare from me. Needless to say he hasn't done it again!

DreamTheMoors · 09/11/2024 21:53

Condescending people who call me “hon” or “sweetie” or “dear.”
It makes me want to punch them right in the mouth.
My name is Elizabeth and you know that, you arsehole.

Zebrassiere · 09/11/2024 21:54

Doing people favours/nice gestures and people being rude or entitled.

Eg just giving some stuff for free away on Facebook marketplace

Them: Are these available?
Me: yep, sure are!
Them: Where are you?
Me: X suburb
Them: No, your street address???
Me: X street
Them: I will come at 12.

No asking what a good time would be let alone a please or thank you. Inclined to tell them to get stuffed!

princesspadam · 09/11/2024 21:55

AlmostCutMyHairToday · 09/11/2024 19:22

People standing too close to the baggage carousel so you can't see the damn bags going round.

Omfg this gives me the rage so bad!!!!!

When I spy my case I try and take out at least 2 muppets so I can make a point

Zebrassiere · 09/11/2024 21:56

People getting in a lift before you get out

ihatethewordhubby · 09/11/2024 21:57

Pretty much ALL of the above .
The word nourishing makes me feel weird

Zebrassiere · 09/11/2024 21:58

Crisp packets being opened upside down

Zebrassiere · 09/11/2024 21:59

Happy Humpday! Or Happy Friday!

Darkdiamond · 09/11/2024 22:00

People referring to themselves in the third person to their children.

"Mummy is just having a little rest now".

I can understand doing it for a very, very small child to make a point explicitly clear to them, especially if there is a speech delay. Likewise, I can kind of see the value in doing it with an older children with communication issues.

However, it absolutely enrages me when parents do this to their neurotypical, older child (4 plus) who would totally understand that when mummy says 'I', she is talking about herself. It makes me cringe so much!!! It's just so unbelievably annoying!

Diversion · 09/11/2024 22:03

Christmas in November , the adverts, the promotions, the decorations, the music oh and the book your Xmas party now posters in June. Leave it till 1st December please. Ba Humbug and all that

saltysandysea · 09/11/2024 22:06

Dollybantree · 09/11/2024 21:36

What are they supposed to do?(genuine question)

Maybe say hello good morning/afternoon, can I pass? I am on your left/right? Not just ringing the bell incessantly then speeding past with 2 inches to spare.

If you are behind a slow car with no over taking do you beep on your horn until you can get past?

Zebrassiere · 09/11/2024 22:07

No one seeming to know the difference between these types of punctuation marks in UK English: " " and ' '

ABirdsEyeView · 09/11/2024 22:10

When shopping online and the website accepts your order, claims it is dispatched, then sends you a 'sorry, your item has been damaged or lost in transit' email. I know you've oversold and don't have the stock to fulfil the order, so please don't add insult to injury by lying to me about it!

The fact that I always believe I am capable of cleaning something with bleach and won't spill it on my top. This is never true, yet still I do it! A problem entirely of my own making but still gives me the rage.

My neighbour's parking. She's in her own space so I have no right to be annoyed but her crapoy, wonky parking makes it hard to get out of my space and annoys me.

The inability of the Evri courrier to read a fucking address properly. Although this one is a legit complaint imo.

ACapybaraNamedFred · 09/11/2024 22:11

People on buses who start getting on before you've got off. I don't understand this at all.
French knickers, or even worse, thongs.
Pistachio nut shells that refuse to open.
Taylor Swift.
Ed Sheeran.
Guage piercings.
Crowded pavements.
Chairs and tables fixed to the floor in some old cafes.
People on public transport who smell of urine or BO
