Taken a velvet jacket out of the wardrobe and it smells musty. Really musty. I've got it hanging outside to air..anything else I can do?

Spray with fabreze ? Tumble dry on refresh setting with a couple of bounce sheets is what I did when I got my winter stuff out the wash. I didn't wash them just the tumblet

Is it washable? Don't spray if with febreze! My mum did that to an old hoody of mine and all it did was smell musty with a disgusting synthetic fragrance on top. (I had to chuck it as I have a fragrance allergy anyway and you can't get that shit out, so it was a but daft if her anywho I digress!).

If it's musty that means mould or bacteria of some sort in the fabric so I'd want to either carefully hand wash it or get it dry cleaned. I wouldn't just want to air it.

I'm thinking it might need dry cleaned....fe breeze smells too chemically for me.
