I've chronic hives for over 15 years. I've never had food allergy testing but does anyone have any experience of if this is worth it. Will it be difficult to convince doctor to order the testing? Symptoms are IBS, constipation and bloating as well as hives. Thanks

I've have urticarial vasculitis and contact urticaria and it took literally years to get a diagnosis as my GP just kept pushing back and saying it was an allergy or skin condition. If it's causing pain I'd say keep pushing as you need to know the cause and if it can develop.

Cause is the wrong description though - urticarial vasculitis is idiopathic but I understand the development of it now and how to manage and can keep a close eye on my symptoms as it can progress to organ involvement.

Interesting thank you! I recently went to a endocrinologist for a different issue but he suggested It might be worth exploring food allergies. Dealing with doctors makes me feel stressed out as they can be so invalidating/minimizing of issues. Just wary of having to fight for this.
