What vacuum cleaner ?

What vacuum cleaner is good for a busy/messy/pet house hold ?

I have 2 stick type vacuums one is wired the other wireless. But I feel like they don't have enough power/suction even from new.

I was thinking about a Henry? I want to pay upto the 150 mark . But cheaper if possible.

Shark or Dyson. Don't go near a Hoover.

I’d avoid Dysons, had 2 crap ones. Also had a Henry which lasted bloody years. Great things - no frills and consequently not much goes wrong with them!

Miele ,they are usually on offer somewhere

I will say, I have upped the budget from my wonderful old Henry and traded him in for a Miele C3 Cat & Dog and it’s brilliant. Could blow your budget though x

Henry all the way. He is a much loved member of our family. Happy to suck up anything and never let's me down.

Manchesterbythesea · 08/11/2024 12:31

We have a Miele C3. It’s excellent. I had a Henry but found him a bit cumbersome. My Dyson stick is crap.

I highly recommend Dyson V11 advanced. Very powerful suction with anti hair wrap. The filters don’t seem to be cleaned as often. I had the V10 total clean which lost its suction after a few years and was needing the filter to be cleaned every 10 days. I was a bit reluctant to go for another Dyson but very pleased I did.

Dyson every time - a bit dearer but last forever. I haven't tried the stick one as my trusty Dyson multi floor ball one is still going strong - it's 13th birthday is in April! Bought when on offer, it's predecessor Dyson upright original model is still working (semi retired!) in my brother's home office. It must be 21 anyway!

Forgot to say, have two dogs, one teen and a budgie - all messy. Also had a shot if a Shark - very powerful, lightweight with handy light on the front, but falls over all the time when using hose.

Rooftileswithmoss · 08/11/2024 13:32

Miele or Sebo. Shark make the most useless vacuum cleaners ever invented, so avoid them.

Pancakeflipper · 08/11/2024 13:34

Sebo or Miele.

I have a Miele C1 it's ace Miele Classic C1 Flex Vacuum Cleaner, Lotus White

Madcats · 08/11/2024 13:43

If you aren't fussy about colour, buy from the Miele outlet (the C2 red cat & dog is £142):

I have a Blizzard CX1 (from the outlet). The only gripe I have is that I have to cut DD's long hair from the brush/roller from time to time.
