my youngest is 23 so its been a while since i needed baby stuff.
However my daughter is visiting this Christmas with her baby and i need to buy a new cot mattress and bedding and other bits and bobs. Now Mothercare has gone there are no baby shops on the high street, so where do people go to choose baby stuff or will my best bet be to get it all online?
I’d like to be able to actually see things though before i buy them.

John Lewis? But if it’s just the cot mattress, I’d get it online. Won’t she bring most stuff with her?

Not sure about the cot mattress but you can get everything else from Asda.

After a quick Google you can buy cot mattress online from Asda aswell.

ToBeOrNotToBee · 08/11/2024 12:11

Smyths toys have a good selection as does ikea

YouveCatToBeKittenMe · 08/11/2024 12:21

Brilliant, thanks everyone. Any excuse for a trip to Ikea! But Asda is probably our easiest option

It might be helpful to put together a list of things you think you’ll need- for mattress I’d get online, high chair if you are at that stage I’d go to ikea, if it’s things like a steriliser, I’d ask what brand she uses now and try to get one similar on Amazon, so it’s familiar. Same with bottles,

Online4baby are excellent and quick delivery too

I have a mix of John Lewis, Mamas and Papas and supermarkets! Mamas and Papas/John Lewis definitely higher end. Boots are not bad for equipment. If you have one near then Asda do stand-alone home stores which have good baby sections. Ikea for highchairs, bowls, spoons etc if needed.
