Tips - Exploring a new area

We are going to start looking for houses early next year and have been googling and talking to people and we think we have found an ideal area! For context it’s in London (where we currently live) but more North, whereas we are currently West.

We want to get to know the area before we decide if it’s the place to live. Any tips for how to do so? We are going there for a walk around and lunch next week and I’ve connected with some mutual friends who live there to know what “kind” of streets we may like, but any other ideas?

We do need to move, but I am very nervous!

Well, if it’s London, surely you can say the area? I used to live in Finsbury Park.

Mill Hill!

Ah, I don’t know it at all. Good luck with your explorations.

Practise going there on public transport at different times of day (and by car if you have one and look for parking), practise your routes to work. Look at where the supermarkets are (and go inside and see of they are decent) and other amenities you use regularly like the gym or coffee shops or post office.

That’s really useful especially about going on public transport!
