Recovering from surgery, binge watch recommendations!

I was discharged last night following knee surgery. I can just about make it between bed and the toilet at the moment. So I need some bingeable things to watch.

I’ve done Greys anatomy and all its spin offs. My warm and comfy watch is The West Wing so hopefully that should give you all an idea of what I like to watch.

The Resident
New Amsterdam
The Lincoln Lawyer
Only Murders in the Building

Jaffajiffy · 08/11/2024 08:28

The diplomat (Netflix)
shrinking (Apple)
Colun from accounts (BBC)

QueenOfWeeds · 08/11/2024 08:31

I went back to old favourites after surgery so if I dozed off it didn’t matter too much. I’ve recently done all of Modern Family and New Girl whilst off work. Fisk (Netflix) is also v good.

If you haven’t seen it already (but you probably have) then the Traitors.

Depending on your streaming channels:

Disney+
Fleishman’s in Trouble
Rivals
Tiny Beautiful Things

AppleTV
Slow Horses
Big Door Prize
Shrinking

Amazon Prime
Deadloch

And if you loved The West Wing, might be worth finding other Aaron Sorkin shows (The Newsroom & Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip had a similar feel)

Good luck with the recovery!

Modern Family, Schitt's Creek, Gavin and Stacey (getting ready for Christmas special), Nobody wants this (only one series), Ludwig.

Sparklytopattheready · 08/11/2024 08:33

2nd vote for the Lincoln Lawyer
Designated Survivor (seasons 1 and 2 good but 3 a bit meh)
Unbelievable (TW rape)

all Netflix…

Pashazade · 08/11/2024 08:34

The Good Place
(Short and quite light relatively speaking but might intersperse well with heavier stuff)

RuthWhitefeatherFeldman · 08/11/2024 08:36

Just finished watching Disjointed on Netflix with Kathy Bates. Its so funny, it was a real tonic after the post election toxicity 😂

CriticalOverthinking · 08/11/2024 08:37

Chicago med/fire/PD- lots to watch and I'd recommend all as they cross over.

I have a few comfort watches too when I just want a little chuckle:
Superstore
Schitts creek
Motherland
Breeders

Muchtoomuchtodo · 08/11/2024 08:38

Rewatch Gavin and Stacey ready for the Christmas special.

buffyspikefaith · 08/11/2024 08:38

Buffy
911
Chicago fire/med
Law and order
Line of duty
Endeavour
All creatures great and small
Until I kill you
Ellis

The Diplomat would be perfect for you!
And Lincoln Lawyer is decent.

BadForBusiness · 08/11/2024 08:40

The Diplomat (Netflix)
Only Murders in the Building (Now/Sky)
Schmiggadoon (Apple)
Slow Horses (Apple)
Veep if you're feeling strong given recent events (Now/Sky)
Succession (excellent and funny but maybe not comfy enough) (Now/Sly)

Lurkingandlearning · 08/11/2024 08:41

Broken wood is fairly cosy and a bit daft

The Bridge quite dark but bingeable

InterestQ · 08/11/2024 08:41

The Good Wife
Slow Horses
Rivals

Noodlesnotstrudels · 08/11/2024 08:42

Also a big West Wing fan and whilst on mat leave with a non sleeping baby, I've watched.

Chicago Med / Fire
The Lincoln Lawyer
New Amsterdam
Scandal (loads of WW actor crossover)

JoshLymanIsHotterThanSam · 08/11/2024 08:43

Brill thank you…I’ll check out the diplomat first as that one has come up a lot.

Im going to have plenty of time to watch….at least 6 weeks it seems.

I love The West Wing and would next rematch The Good Wife or The Crown. I love a rewatch.

Theoscargoesto · 08/11/2024 08:54

Ted Lasso. I don’t watch much tv and find it doesn’t hold my attention but Ted is brilliant.
