Non hormonal PMDD treatment?

Is there one ? I’m desperate but I’m being told hormonal contraceptives are the only option with one really unhelpful gp telling me to try deep breathing and camomile tea.

Im desperate. For 7-10 days a month I’m horrible and once I get down to 72 hrs before my period I have to stay in my room alone to not get triggered

Non hormonal PMDD treatment?

I was on Citalopram for it for almost 20 years. Some months it worked, some months it didn’t. Definitely better than breathing and camomile tea! I can’t believe that was suggested!

All I’m being told is to go on the pill/have a coil or the implant and deep breathing / camomile tea and I’m at my wits end. I’m going to make another appointment and ask for this as I can’t take hormonal contraceptives as ttc !!! (And I think this is making premenstrual issues worse as have had a lot of hormonal treatments - multiple letrozole cycles then ivf cycles so I think I’ve messed up my hormones and I don’t want more hormones!)

Feeling your pain. I radically changed my lifestyle. No CAFFEINE AT ALL so that includes chocolate cut out gluten and dairy, began exercising every day. Was totally worth it.

In my experience, if you fall pregnant, breastfeed and you'll buy yourself a few more non PMDD months. Coil helped me after the babies!
SSRIs - you can take them 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, or just all month long.
