Hotel du Cap Eden Roc (as someone said), Villa Treville just outside (this is a good thing) Positano, Hotel Cipriani in Venice (as someone also said) - if you can get in - passalacqua on Lake Como.

Love seeing so many recommendations for Burgh Island. We stayed there many years ago when a friend rented the whole place for his 60th. It was absolutely insane.

Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans is another corker.

Hotel Europe in Ireland, amazing. Spa fabulous. Food excellent. Outdoor pool heaven even in cold weather.
By a lake

No need to leave hotel while there

Grand Tremezzo Palace, Lake Como.

Chedi, Muscat is on my bucket list.

Greenbike · 06/11/2024 21:59

Castello di Reschio in Italy. Historic, beautifully restored, rural, nice landscapes, great service, lovely towns to explore nearby, and possibly the most spectacular spa in Europe.

I'm not very into posh hotels, but we are taking our teens here next year. I've been twice before and adore it: https://okonjima.com/luxury-bush-camp/

DBIL pays for all the family to go to Adere Manor in Limerick a weekend each year, and it is rather nice of you are into that sort of thing: https://www.adaremanor.com/?gadsource=1&gbraid=0AAAAADuzKSJOvKxFZMrhE5hRlYgxxjshf&gclid=EAIaIQobChMInIt-NnIiQMVtIyDBx3D6g6PEAAYAiAAEgJ-svDDBwE

We're splashing out on Singita Ebony Lodge on a South African Safari. Understated sublime luxury.

The George Sanc Paris is lovely as is Villa San Michelle just above Florence. I have never had service like that and service is what it's abut. There are some exquisite ski chalets in Courchevel and Verbier with Micheliin starred chefs.. I don't know where to stop!

ParsnipPuree · 06/11/2024 22:04

Love the terrace of Gritti Palace in Venice.

Can't believe Le Negresco in Nice hasn't been mentioned yet. So iconic, would love to stay there.

Locally Raffles OWO was really wow. I was so impressed by all elements of my stay there. Worldwide would be a close one but I think number one would be the Ritz Kyoto

louisianachild · 06/11/2024 22:26

For a UK option, Grantley Hall in North Yorkshire is gorgeous
