New car. Would you call for an update?

New car was meant to be delivered Monday. However last week I'd heard nothing. So I called

Was told it was going to be delivered to my local dealer on Monday/Tuesday and they then would call me to arrange delivery.

No one's called. Should I just wait it out, I have plans Friday and I have a feeling that will end up being delivery day 🙈

I'm really confused why you have started a thread instead of just calling for an update. Of course you chase!

Get on the case!

I used to work in a car garage and I can imagine that’s quite normal. Car arrives on the late Transporter on monday, salesman has his day off on Tuesday, catches up on stuff on Wednesday morning. It’s really
no Time at all.

Plus- remember the workshop will need to take the car first anyway to do the preparation and checks and put number plates on. So even if it’s on site it can’t leave the same day anyway. Just call him again and see when you can collect it!

It may not have been "prepared" for handover yet. It has to go through the workshop for it's PDI, cleaning, etc which has to be done between "booked in" workshop repairs and servicing. A few days, or a week or so, between delivery and it being ready for handover is common.

It’s a car!! Of course you should chase. Jesus how do people get by?

It's normal for there to be a gap between delivery and it being ready for you to actually take home.
