Can ovulation tests be wrong?

I’m really confused as Ive had wrong results a few times now from CB advanced and also bbt in the past? I don’t have any hormone issues such a pcos so I’m confused and wondered if this has happened to anyone else ?

With Ds the CB never reached peak and bbt never really changed and then went down so I thought my period was approaching and was surprised to be pregnant but then worried as the temperature was indicating a problem I had to stop doing it as it caused anxiety and he was fine !

With recent cycles (been ttc a while so had a few scans etc) the CB has been reaching ‘peak’ so I’ve assumed ovulation is 24-36 hours after that but scans have confirmed I’m ovulating 48 hrs+ after the LH surge? That’s not right is it ? I’m so confused

All I can say is ovulation tests are extremely accurate in detecting luteinizing hormone. The accuracy is above 90% on each test. Me and my partner used ovulation tests (cheap ones, from Home Bargains I think?) and this helped us to conceive our DS. I suppose if you have any questions medically you could go to your doctor and ask some questions.

Another rule of thumb we followed, if the test was positive of an LH surge, we… you know, that day and the day after.
