Bathroom company recommendations

Looking for recommendations for bathroom companies!
Want something that is hard wearing and long lasting, but nothing overly expensive. We are in the North West but very happy with a 'high street' bathroom company.

I think you'll find Wickes have a bad reputation. We were going to have our bathroom fitted by them and ended up cancelling at the weekend. On top of the usual appointments, we've had three wasted journeys to store for different reasons due to mismanagement. Our installer has resigned, we gave them time to let us know and they didn't. Also, we were told November for installation, five weeks later is that March and with no installer, they admitted we'd have to start over again. My friend had them and wasn't impressed by installation and finish.

Thank you! That's good to know as they were on our list!

Just thought I'd update you. We've now arranged for a local fitter to do our bathroom at £6400 plus tiles. Wickes were going to charge £6100 plus tiles and flooring, so price wise there isn't too much in it. Timescale Wickes said three weeks to install, new chap says 7-8 days, which makes more sense as our last bathroom was installed in 5 days.

Chap came around and suggested various options, which was easier than trawling through Wickes catelogue and getting confused in store with so many choices. He's told us who his suppliers are, so we can check anything out and who he can get a trade discount with for tiles and flooring.

Just updating as putting aside issues with Wickes, a local person might be worth considering.

Thank you! This is great - I have no idea where to start (i don't know anyone who's ever had a new bathroom fitted!)

I will have a look around. Thank you so much!
